On Saturday, former Indian Cricketer and World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh shared a viral video on his Instagram handle where he was praising the police personnel for “sharing their own food” with the needy.
The former Indian Cricketer said, “It’s heartwarming to see such act of humanity shown by these policemen. Much respect for their act of kindness during these tough times and for sharing their own food”. In the video which runs for 3 minutes and 30 seconds, a group of policemen can be seen feeding a man who was walking on the road.
India will stay under lockdown until the 14th of April and many cricketers and other personalities have come forward to help the nation combat the deadly virus.

On Friday, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi held a video conference with 40 sportspersons of India which included Yuvraj Singh. It was the first time since the lockdown when the Prime Minister had interacted with the sports personalities.
Earlier Yuvraj Singh unleashed a social media storm when he backed Shahid Afridi’s foundation and urged his fans to donate to that Pakistani foundation.
The two countries are bitter rivals and this call-out by Yuvraj touched a rather hot spot of the Indian populace. Afridi’s appeal for a donation to help people in Pakistan who have been affected by Coronavirus received an overwhelming support from Indian cricketers as even Harbhajan Singh came out in support of it.
On twitter, Yuvraj Singh wrote, These are testing times, it’s time to look out for each other,” calling his fans to donate funds.
While Afridi thanked both the former Indian players, they did face major backlash.
Later that day, Yuvraj cleared his views and said, “I really don’t understand how a msg to help the most vulnerable people gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve through that message was to help people in our own respective countries by providing healthcare, my intention was not to hurt anyone’s feelings. I’m an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai Hind”.
