Larry Bird was born in West Baden Springs, Indiana on December 7, 1956. He was raised in this settlement, which is close to French Lick, a town. Claude Joseph “Joe” Bird, Larry’s father, relocated to French Lick in search of employment when his family broke up. Georgia, Larry’s mother, was having a hard time raising him and his five siblings back in the hamlet.
