The Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Twitter account was hacked and could only be restored after several hours.
On Monday, the Royal Challengers Bangalore confirmed that their Twitter account was “compromised” however the IPL 2021 franchise managed to get the access back.
RCB tweeted, “Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused”.

India and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli feels the upcoming months will hold importance for the IPL side as well as Team India considering the ICC T20 World Cup is around the corner.
Virat Kohli and pacer Mohammed Siraj arrived in Dubai on Sunday after the 5th Test match in the 5-match series against England in Manchester was cancelled.
The RCB duo are currently undertaking their mandatory 6-day quarantine post which they will be able to join the team bubble in Dubai ahead of the resumption of IPL 2021.

In a video posted by RCB on Twitter, skipper Kohli said, “Unfortunate how we ended up being here early but with COVID in place, things are very uncertain, so anything can happen at any time.
“Hopefully, we are able to maintain a good strong, secure environment here and have a quality IPL and onto the World Cup.
“So now, heading into the T20 phase, I think it is going to be an exciting phase and a very important one for us at RCB and for the Indian team at the World Cup as well.”
As Australia’s Adam Zampa is unavailable, RCB brought in the replacement in Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka.
Other replacements for RCB are as follows:
- Dushmantha Chameera for Daniel Sams
- Left-arm quick George Garton for Kane Richardson
- Tim David for New Zealand’s Finn Allen
Further speaking about the new additions in the squad, skipper Virat Kohli said, “The replacement players have great skillsets, especially in these conditions. Excited to see them with the whole group and to resume a very good season that we started last time around.”

Siraj, on the other hand, said, “I’m joining RCB family after so many days, really excited for the IPL. We are in a good position on the points table so it will be a lot of fun.”
The 14th season of the Indian Premier League was postponed in May this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic after a number of players and team members were tested COVID-19 positive.
IPL will resume on the 19th of September in Dubai with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and defending champions Mumbai Indians.
Following the match, all eyes will be on the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) that will be played in Abu Dhabi.
Sharjah will host its first game on the 24th of September when RCB will take on CSK.
In all, 13 matches will be played in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and 8 in Abu Dhabi.
The board has come up with a 46-page health advisory which lay down all the pointers that everyone associated with the cash-rich tournament will have to follow religiously in order to make sure the league functions smoothly.
Having said this, the former English skipper Michael Vaughan is trying to say that there was a bigger motive behind cancelling the 5th test between India and England as he wrote, “IPL teams chartering planes .. 6 days quarantining required in the UAE .. 7 days till the tournament starts !!!! Don’t tell me the Test was cancelled for any other reason but the IPL,” on Twitter.
