Highlights:
- IPL 2020 has begun and CSK has tasted defeat in 2 of their 3 matches
- CSK failed to deliver as they lost against DC by 44 runs
- Dhoni came out to bat at number 6 in the match against DC
Taking a comical dig at the lack of intensity shown by the batsmen in the dugout of the Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) the former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag, on Saturday, asked the MS Dhoni-led side to have some ‘glucose” before that start of a match.
His remark came when CSK, yet again, lost their IPL match, this time against Delhi Capitals by 44 runs in the IPL 2020 match on Friday.
Sehwag tweeted, “Chennai ke batsman simply not getting going. Glucose chadwaake aana padega next match se batting karne.”

CSK had failed to chase down the total of 176 against Delhi Capital and were restricted to just 131/7, suffering a 44 run defeat.
Yet again, after being criticised for coming out to bat at number 7 in the match before, Mahendra Singh Dhoni decided to come out on the field to bat at number 6.
MS Dhoni walked out in the middle with CSK reeling at 98/4 in the 16th over.
After the match, even skipper MS Dhoni admitted that the side is lacking steam in the batting department.

In the post-match presentation, Dhoni said, “I don’t think it was a good game for us. The wicket did slow down a bit, there was no dew, but I think we are lacking steam in the batting department. We need to figure that out. The break in the next seven days is the best chance we could get: give them match simulation and look for the right balance,”.
As of now, in IPL 2020, CSK has played 3 matches and have won only 1 match, the 1st match of IPL 2020 which the team in yellow played against Mumbai Indians.
Even in their second match, against Rajasthan Royals, CSK led by MS Dhoni endures severe criticism from people all around including Cricket pundits for the approach they adopted while chasing a massive total of 217.
Dhoni had come out to bat at number seven in that match, and the move did not go down well with several former cricketers.
CSK will now face SunRisers Hyderabad on the 2nd of October at the Dubai International Stadium.
