In the match, MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first, what came as a surprise was that Sam Curran cam in as the opener and smashed 31 runs off 21 balls giving a great start to CSK side even when Faf du Plessis was sent back to the dressing room after facing just 1 ball.

When SRH arrived on the field to chase, their skipper David Warner was shown his way back to the dugout in the 4th over when Curran dismissed him with a caught and bowled.
Manish Pandey, too, could not leave an impression in the match as he went back to the dressing room too soon when he misjudged a run and Dwayne Bravo threw the ball for a direct hit from the mid-off.

In the 18th over, Karn Sharma dismissed the New Zealand skipper following which SRH could see the game slipping away from their hands.
After the win, both SRH and CSK are equal on points (6 points each) in IPL 2020, but SRH has the advantage of a slightly better Net Run Rate.
