On Tuesday night, what had started as a friendly, light-hearted dig between the former Indian and Pakistani bowlers, soon escalated into an ugly row on the social media platform, Twitter. Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh and former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir sparred on Twitter starting from late Thursday night until early hours of Wednesday on Twitter, just a couple of days after Pakistani’s first win over Indian in a Worlc Cup match in over 29 years coming in ICC T20I World Cup.
The feud began when Harbhajan responded to a tweet from Amir dated October 25, where the latter had made fun of the former over Pakistan’s 10-wicket win over India and asked Harbhajan whether he broke his TV or not after India lost the match.
In response, the legendary Indian spinner Harbhajan shared a video from the 2010 Asia Cup, where he had hit the winning runs for India against Pakistan off the bowling of Amir by hitting a six.
Bhajji wrote, “Ab Tum bi bologe @iamamirofficial yeh 6 ki landing tumhare ghar k tv par to nahi hui thi ?? Koi nahi hota hai end of the day it’s a game of cricket as u rightly said,” which loosely translates to “Now you, Amir, will say this 6 did not land on the TV in your house? It’s fine, at the end of the day it’s just a game of cricket, as you rightly said”.

Amir wrote, “me busy tha @harbhajan_singh apki bowling dekh raha tha test jab LaLA ne apko 4 bowls pe 4 sixes mare thay but cricket hai lag sakte but test cricket me ????thora ziada ho gia tha” which loosely translates to “I was busy, Harbhajan, in watching this clip of the test match where LaLa (Shahid Afridi) has hit you for 4 consecutive sixes, though one can be hit for 4 consecutive sixes, but in a test match, it’s a little too much”.

The tweet from Mohammad Amir did not well with Harbhajan Singh who then reminded the former Pakistani fast bowler of his involvement in the 2010 spot-fixing scandal during the Test match at Lord’s, England.

Bhajji tweeted, “Lords mai no ball kaise ho gya tha ?? Kitna liya kisne diya ? Test cricket hai no ball kaise ho sakta hai ? Shame on u and ur other supporters for disgracing this beautiful game,” which loosely translates to, “How did you bowl no-ball at Lord’s? how much money did you take? Who gave you the money? How can you bowl a no-ball in Test format? Shame on your and your supporters for disgracing this beautiful game (Cricket)”.
