Sir Ravindra Jadeja put in a stunning performance as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 69 runs to reach the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 points table.
Jadeja smashed 36 from the final over to take CSK to a respectable total of 191/4 after they opted to bat first. He soon followed his stellar performance with a brilliant bowling figure of 3/13 in 4 overs, taking big wickets of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. He also sent Washington Sundar back to the dug-out.
As if that was not enough, Jadeja also affected the run-out of Dan Christian with a brilliant direct hit.
Jadeja single-handedly ended RCB’s unbeaten streak in IPL 2021 and Twitter was left in awe with his top-notch performance in the match.
The skipper of RCB as well as team India, Virat Kohli, hailed Jadeja’s performance despite him directly being the reason for RCB’s defeat.
Kohli said, “I have believed in @imjadeja a lot. I am happy to see him perform with the bat, ball and in the field. When he plays well, it opens up so many options not just for #CSK but for #TeamIndia also”

Jadeja’s 36 run haul in the final over of the match makes him reach the joint-highest score by any batsman in an over in the IPL with Chris Gayle who scored 36 runs against the now-defunct Kochi Tuskers.
The final over helped Jadeja finish with a score of 62 off 28 deliveries, unbeaten. His knock was studded with four boundaries and five sixes.
