The draw to decide the matchups in the tournament is on Wednesday, December 13. Football fans are really excited to find out which teams will compete against each other. There are 27 teams in total, all aiming to win this significant competition.
The CONCACAF Football Landscape in 2024
The CONCACAF Champions Cup draw holds significant importance as it marks the conclusion of the North American Confederation’s footballing activities for the year, setting the stage for a thrilling 2024 filled with various competitions.
Apart from the Champions Cup, fans can look forward to the Nations League, the Women’s Gold Cup, and the participation of six CONCACAF teams as guests in the 2024 Copa América, which will be hosted in the United States.
Teams Securing Their Spot in the Round of 16
Before we talk about the actual draw for the tournament, we already know which teams are in the first round (round of 16). Some of the important teams are Inter Miami and Columbus Crew from MLS. Inter Miami got into the tournament by winning the Leagues Cup and Columbus Crew got in by winning the MLS.
In fact, Pachuca, Alajuelense, and Robinhood have earned their spots as champions of Liga MX, the Central American Cup, and the Caribbean Cup, respectively.

In the first round of the tournament, there are 22 teams. Three of these teams are special because they are seeded, meaning they are recognized for their good performance in football.
These teams are Club América (Mexico A3), Tigres (Mexico A7), and Monterrey (Mexico A9) from Mexico. They are important teams and will have a big impact on how the tournament starts. Everyone is waiting to see who they will play against in the draw.
