Highlights:
- Team India will host West Indies in the 2nd ODI of the three-match series in Ahmedabad on 9th February
- The Men in Blue registered a comfortable victory in the opening match of the series
- India’s performance has strengthened ahead of the comebacks of Shreyas Iyer and Shikha Dhawan
After registering a phenomenal win in the first ODI, Rohit Sharma-led Team India will aim to seal the series by attempting to defeat the opponent WI in the 2nd ODI. The match is scheduled to be conducted in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 9th February.
India’s win over West Indies in the opening ODI was very comfortable and a similar pattern is likely to continue in the 2nd ODI of the series. Focus, however, will be on vice-captain KL Rahul who has rejoined after a family function and was seen sweating it out in the nets before of the game.
Ishan Kishan, who opened alongside Rohit in the first ODI, played well with a 36-ball 28, and both Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda did well to help India finish the game. If Rahul plays, then either of the three among Suryakumar, Kishan, or Deepak Hooda, will have to sit out to accommodate him as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rishabh Pant, all are expected to play.

Pitch Report:
The Ahmedabad pitch seems to have benefited spinners immensely, with the slow bowlers taking eight wickets on the day. Chahal and Sundar got a lot of turn from the pitch, while Akeal Hossain had a similar impact with the ball as well. The fast bowlers found a little bounce on the pitch as well in the first game, and the second ODI is set to be a terrific contest between bat and ball.
