SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets on Monday at the Dubai International Stadium in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match, headed by debutant Jason Roy and captain Kane Williamson. SRH chased the goal of 165 in 18.3 overs, thanks to innings of 60 and 51* from Jason Roy and Kane Williamson.
Abhishek Sharma also contributed a significant knock of 21* to his team’s win. Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals’ captain, pitched a crucial inning of 82, but it was not enough. Chasing a target of 165, Hyderabad got off to a great start, with openers Jason Roy and Wriddhiman Saha amassing 57 runs in the opening five overs.
In Chris Morris’ fifth over, the SRH pair scored a staggering 18 runs. Mahipal Lomror struck in the final over of the powerplay, sending Wriddhiman Saha back to the pavilion, providing some relief to Rajasthan Royals. Saha returned to the field after scoring 18 runs off 11 balls. After the first six overs, the SRH score was 63/1. Kane Williamson, who joined Roy on the pitch, batted for SRH in the middle overs.
After 10 overs, the SRH score was 90/1 thanks to a comfortable hammering of the RR bowlers. All hell went loose on RR in the 11th over of the innings, as Jason Roy went crazy after reaching his fifty on SRH debut. The Englishman and his captain blasted Rahul Tewatia’s over for 21 runs. Chetan Sakariya sent Jason Roy back to the pavilion in the following over.

Roy walked back after hitting a fantastic 60 off 42 balls. SRH were confident after Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Priyam Garg for a first-ball duck in the 13th over. Kane Williamson was subsequently joined on the pitch by Abhishek Sharma, and the two wonderfully strengthen the squad of SRH.
With superb strokeplay, the pair ensured that their side won the match without further difficulties. Kane Williamson achieved his fifty in the last over of the game after striking back-to-back boundaries, and he also finished the run-chase with no difficulty.
Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma both went unbeaten and scored 51* and 21* respectively. Earlier, Sanju Samson batted brilliantly as Rajasthan Royals (RR) achieved a total of 164/5 in their allocated twenty overs. Samson pitched a crucial inning of 82. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mahipal Lomror both contributed important innings of 36 and 29* for the pink squad. Siddarth Kaul took two wickets for SRH, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan and Sandeep Sharma each took one.

RR batted first and got off to a shaky start as star opener Evin Lewis left the field in the second over of the game. Abdul Samad caught Lewis on the fence with Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s opening ball. Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal then helped SRH stay on track by scoring 49 runs in the first powerplay.
In the middle overs, the duo continued their destruction. Sandeep Sharma got the crucial breakthrough for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the ninth over, breaking the dangerous-looking partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and RR skipper. Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after earning 36 points in 23 balls. Rashid Khan struck in the 11th over for SRH, dismissing struggling Liam Livingstone. Livingstone was caught in the deep by Abdul Samad.
In the midst of this, Sanju Samson proceeded to mix caution with some fantastic strokeplay. The Royals captain quickly passed the 50-run milestone in the 16th over of the game. In that over, RR collected 20 runs.
In the final over of the innings, Siddarth Kaul knocked out Samson. Sanju Samson scored 82 off 57 balls. Riyan Parag was also out in the last over as SRH finished the innings on a strong note. The innings of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) finished at 164/5.
