Highlights:
- Kartik Tyagi bowled an outstanding last over to limit the Kings to 183/4 in reply to the Royals’ 185.
- Punjab Kings had eight wickets in hand and needed 10 runs from 15 balls.
- However, because to Kartik Tyagi’s spectacular last-over, which gave just one run and two wickets, Rajasthan Royals were able to seal a two-run victory.
“It truly isn’t over till it’s over,” as we often hear in the game of cricket. But yesterday, in the 32nd match of the IPL 2021, we saw this saying come true as Rajasthan Riyals won by 2 runs. The second leg of the IPL saw KL Rahul’s PBKS and Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals for the first time. The two clashed at the Dubai International Stadium, with RR emerging victorious.

Before we get to the stat highlights, let’s take a look at how the game went for both sides. PBKS won the toss and decided to bowl first. Chris Gayle was dropped from the match.
Evin Lewis and Yasashvi Jaiswal were not in the mood to give their team a sluggish start as they came in to bat for RR.
While Lewis was out on 36, Yashasvi Jaiswal was out on 49 runs, missing out on his half-century by a whisker. The PBKS bowlers were unable to take early wickets, but following Jaiswal’s departure, wickets continued to fall, but thankfully, one of the two batsmen shown steely nerves. Liam Livingstone and Mahipal Lomror were among those who scored runs off fewer deliveries. No other batsmen were able to remain on the field for an extended period of time, and they were bundled out for 185 runs.

Now, it’s the dropped catches that have cost RR dearly. When Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul batted, the fielder lost five catches. KL Rahul scored 49 runs, while Agarwal scored 67. That’s quite an assault to the injury.
However, it would be incorrect to claim that the RR bowlers failed in the opening few overs since they did bowl tighter spells, allowing PBKS to get off to a sluggish start, but KL Rahul and Agarwal were motivated. As the contest came down to the wire, PBKS made certain that they did not lose any more wickets. But it was Tyagi who remained composed and guided the squad to a surprising victory.
