Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) player Riyan Parag posted a tweet through his official Twitter handle which started a hilarious meme-fest soon after. The tweet which read, “Khatam, tata, bye-bye #IPL2021 #iplcancel,” was posted by Parag shortly after BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) and the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council indefinitely postponed the 14th edition of the cash-rich tournament on the 4th of May owing to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases among the franchise players and the support staff members.

Parag was at the receiving end of the meme-fest by fans after he posted the tweet.

One fan joked how the injured Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer could now be back for the team when the IPL resumes after the postponement.

Out of the total 61 matches which were scheduled for IPL 2021, only 29 matches could be played.
Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had also tested positive for COVID-19 while Chennai Super Kings coaches Lakshmipathy Balaji and Mike Hussey along with a CSK travel team support staff member also tested positive for this virus.
One player each from Delhi Capitals (DC) and SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) also tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
