The 25 year old French footballer, Anthony martial, played the full match against the blades on the 28th of January, but, once again was unable to prevent his side from falling to the league’s bottom tram.
Red Devil’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Anthony Martial will not be spared from criticism after the Red Devils were stunned 2-1 by the rock-bottom Sheffield United on Thursday.
The side coached by Chris Wilder got just their second win of the season in the match against Man Utd, with Oliver Burke scoring a 74th-minute goal against Solskjaer’s title-chasing outfit which led them to victory.
Martial not only started the game for Man Utd, but played until the full time whistle against the Blades, however, he failed to generate much in attack on the night.
In the current season, the Frenchman has found the back of the net only 5 times in his 25 appearances for the club and even though Solskjaer has backed his forward, he also said he won’t be spared from criticism.
During the post-match press conference, Solskjaer said, “I think the whole team will probably get criticism tonight and myself as well”.

“I don’t think Anthony is exempt from that.
“We all should be criticised because we didn’t perform. Anthony is working really hard in training, working on his finishing and movement. I’ve got no qualms that he will come good,” he said.
When the Man Utd boss was asked to comment on what he thinks went wrong for his side, Solskjaer pointed to a number of different reasons.
The Norwegian said, “There are many facets to a game,” and added, “Today we didn’t pass with enough quality and not enough rhythm, tempo and quality in our passing, not enough runs in behind when we should have – there were spaces there at times, especially in the first half.
He said, “The boys have been terrific for the last few months, really consistent high performance levels. Tonight was our night to not hit those levels and when you don’t in the Premier League you don’t get those results.”
The loss against Sheffield United has left Man Utd 1 point behind the Premier League table toppers Manchester City with one more game played. Solskjaer knows that his side will have to refocus quickly ahead of Saturday’s game against a resurgent Arsenal which will start from 11:00 PM (IST).
He said, “Of course (we have) no time to feel sorry, there’s a game on Saturday”. “We have to bounce back. We’ve done it before, this group of players have done it so many times.
“We expect our performance to be so much better on Saturday. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves for too long, when I see them in the morning [we will] get the focus on the weekend.”
