On Sunday, Delhi Capitals created history for themselves in the Indian Premier League as they survived the last scare by Kan Williamson, SunRisers Hyderabad star batsman, and won the second qualifier by 17 runs and qualified for their first ever IPL final.
Fans and former players of Delhi Capitals along with cricket experts were thrilled on the outcome of DC making to their maiden final in 13 years since the tournament was first played in 2008.
The former Indian and Delhi Capitals (Delhi Daredevil then) opener Virendra Sehwag congratulated the team in his own flair. The former cricketer shared a meme which featured famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his famous song “Aisa peli baar hua hai 17-18 saalon mein” from the 2000 movie “Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega” to celebrate DC’s win and qualification to the IPL 2020 finale.
Along with the meme, the 42 year old heavy hitting batsman also wrote a caption “Congratulations #DelhiCapitals on reaching the finals. The only active IPL team to have not ever played a final makes it to the final. 2020… Aur bahut kuch dikhayega.”

Powered by some great performances by Shikhar Dhawan, Marcus Stoinis and Shimron Hetmyer, Delhi Capitals had set a good 190 run target for the 2016 Indian Premier League champion SunRisers Hyderabad at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

In the bowling, Kagiso Rabada gave a big blow to SRH’s run chase by sending skipper David Warner back to the dressing room with a clean stump in the 2nd over of the match.
Marcus Stoinis came in to bowl in the Powerplay (initial 6 overs) and took some very important wickets of Priyam Garg and Manish Pandey to completely derail the chase of Hyderabad-based side.
It was only Kane Williamson who scared the Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals when he stitched a 46 run partnership with Jason Holder and then a 57 run partnership with young talent Abdul Samad giving DC few moments of worry.
However, Marcus Stonis hit again and turned the tides as he dismissed Williamson in the 17th over of the match and in the end SRH was restricted to only 172 runs for a loss of 8 wickets after 20 overs.
