IPL 2020: Anukul Roy And Kieron pollard Clinches The Win For Mumbai Indians Over Rajasthan Royals

The match between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals featured some of the most incredible catches in the 13^th edition of the Indian Premier League. Mumbai Indians were dominant in the match from the very beginning and they routed RR by 57 runs to go top of the table.

Mumbai Indians side bowled out Rajasthan Royals for just 137 runs and it wasn’t only the bowlers who should get credit for that. MI put in a praise-worthy display in the field and tightened the noose around RR’s batsmen with two incredible catches.

First it was Kieron Pollard who grabbed a stunner at the boundary which sent the in-form and dangerous Jos Buttler back to the dressing room in the 13th over. Batting on 70, Buttler smashed the ball to long-on and it seemed to be going for a six but Pollard had other plans and stopped the six, but he did not do just that.

Even the great Sachin Tendulkar was deeply impressed by Pollard’s catch.

Then came the turn of the substitute fielder Anukul Roy to shine. He had come in as a substitute fielder for Suryakumar Yadav who had suffered a concussion and made an impact as he took one of the best catch in IPL 2020 sending Mahipal Lomror back to the dressing room.

He ran backwards and put in a full-stretched dive to catch the ball.

After the match, Roy was asked about the catch he took to dismiss Lomror and he said that the only way he could take the catch was to make a dive for it as he was moving away from the ball.

In a video posted on the IPL Twitter handle, Roy told Chahar, “I was just thinking about reaching the ball, as soon as I did, I realised I was still far off from taking a catch, so I had to dive for it, it was a very nice feeling that I was able to do something for the team,”.
