- RCB looking to get their hands on the maiden IPL title this year

- Sunil Gavaskar has picked the placer who could be a match winner for RCB this IPL
If there is one franchise in the Indian Premier League which has had a huge potential in its line up yet have been the biggest underperformers that would be the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite boasting some of the biggest names in the world of cricket, RCB has been unable to stamp their authority in the IPL.
The franchise which is led by Virat Kohli is one of the few teams yet to win the IPL title and that has given rise to debates regarding their team selection. Both Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have led the franchise for them with support coming from other players.
In the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, RCB will be looking to put their hands on their maiden IPL trophy and they have brought some household names like Aaron Finch and Chris Morris to their squad to give them depth and better stability.
RCB has also appointed new staff with former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson and the former Australian cricketer Simon Katich joining the think tank.

Sunil Gavaskar talked about RCB’s struggle in the cash rich tournament and he feels that a team like Royal Challengers Bangalore not winning a title is nothing short from a puzzle.
Gavaskar wrote, “Why a team like Royal Challengers Bangalore hasn’t won the title as yet is a puzzle. Any team that has Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers should never be short of runs and maybe that’s also a problem, for when these two failed, as humans sometimes do, then the others haven’t put their hands up. They have a new coach and will be hoping that this will be their year,” in his column for Sportstar.
Gavaskar also picked a player who could be a match-winner for RCB on slower pitches in the United Arab Emirates.
Gavaskar also wrote, “On pitches that will get slower, it may be a good idea to have both the champion batsmen open the batting while the ball is hard and new and will come on to the bat nicely than when the spinners are operating. Leggie Yuzvendra Chahal could be a match-winner for RCB on those pitches,”.
RCB will play their first game of IPL 2020 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 21st of September at the Dubai International Stadium at 7:30 PM (IST).
