Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has pulled out of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to person reasons. Harbhajan Singh, who would have played for the Chenna Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2020 conveyed his decision on Friday.
He became the second CSK player after Suresh Raina to withdraw his name from this year’s IPL, citing personal reasons.

While Raina had returned home after travelling with the team to the UAE, Harbhajan never went to the UAE. The development, however, comes on the backdrop of some positive news for the Chennai base IPL franchise.
On Thursday, it was revealed that all of the players from CSK, barring the 2 earlier players who tested positive had tested negative for the novel Coronavirus in the follw up test.
The two players who were infected will now undergo another COVID-19 test after completing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.
According to the reports, the CSK contingent, who still have to start with their training in the United Arab Emirates could hold their first session today.
Towards the end of August, 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings, which included several staff members, had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
CSK’s training was delayed due to the confirmed COVID-19 cases in their camp.
All of the other 7 teams in IPL 2020 have already started their training except for the Chennai Super Kings. CSK which have listed the trophy of IPL three times arrived in the UAE along with the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on the 21st of August.
M S Dhoni led Chennai franchise had a brief training camp in Chennai before they left for the UAE. CSK was the only team which held a training camp in India.
A mainstay in the CSK line-up, Suresh Raina, had already returned to India citing personal reasons, However, giving his fans a sigh of relief, in a recent interview with a leading news agency in India, the left-handed batsman mentioned that they might see him in the IPL 2020.
