Carlos Alcaraz: Everything You Need To Know About The Spanish Tennis Star

Carlos Alcaraz is a Spanish tennis sensation from Murcia who quickly rose through the professional ranks since his 2018 debut achieving a career-high singles ranking of No. 1. He has claimed 11 ATP tour titles, including his 2022 US Open win. This victory made him the seventh youngest Grand Slam winner in history and the youngest ever to be crowned ATP world No. 1.

The Spanish tennis prodigy, Carlos Alcaraz, has become a dominant force in every tournament he enters. Alcaraz came at the time when tennis needed new stars. With Federer retiring and Nadal dealing with injuries, tennis lacked strong competitors for Djokovic.

Tennis relies on exciting rivalries to keep fans interested. Just when it was getting a bit dull with Djokovic’s constant wins, Alcaraz came onto the scene, changing the game. Now, he’s one of the top three players, along with Djokovic and Nadal.

Biography:

Born: May 5, 2003 in El Palmar, Murcia, Spain

Birth name: Carlos Alcaraz Garfia

Height: 5′ 10¾″ (1.80 m)

Personal Life:

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, born on May 5, 2003, in El Palmar, the largest village in Murcia, Spain. He grew up with his parents, Carlos and Virginia, and his three brothers, Alvaro, Sergio, and Jamie.

Carlos began playing tennis at the age of three, encouraged by his father, an ardent tennis player and former top-40 player in Spain. His love for the sport increased rapidly, and he set ambitious goals to become one of the best.

Rafael Nadal, his childhood idol, was an excellent role model and a player Carlos closely followed as he grew up.

In his personal life, despite speculations that his girlfriend is Maria Gonzalez Gimenez of Spain, Carlos revealed in Vogue published in February 2023 that he had been single for 18 months.

Maria and Carlos are from the same town, and he has previously uploaded an Instagram story of him kissing her, so there is no doubt the two have a history. However, Carlos is not currently dating anyone, as he has said publicly.

Net Worth:

Alcaraz’s career earnings surpassed $20 million after qualifying for the finals of the Cincinnati Masters, which he lost to Djokovic. He was paid $556,630. The Spaniard is the first tennis player born after 2000 to achieve that milestone. Only 29 male players in history have won more than $20 million. However, this is only his on-court earnings. He gets roughly $5 million in sponsorship deals and an estimated $7 million from social media sponsorship posts.
