The Belarusian World No 1, Aryna Sabalenka had a severe outburst following her gut-wrenching US Open final with America’s Coco Gauf. In a recently surfaced video, Aryna can be seen smashing her racket several times in an empty training room inside Arthur Ashe Stadium. Judy Murray, mother of British Tennis star, Andy Murray, stood in solidarity with Aryna and fumed at the fact that the footage was made public.
She took to the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and expressed her disappointment on making a private moment public. Gauff, a 19-year-old sensation, clinched her maiden Grand Slam title in a memorable moment on her home turf, defeating Sabalenka in the final with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
In the viral video, tennis star, Sabalenka could be seen keeping her runner-up trophy in the bag and then smashing her Wilson racket four times on the ground before throwing it into the trash can. Players are entitled to have privacy in their moments of disappointment post losing a Grand Slam final and releasing this video is an awful thing to do.
While it remains unclear who was behind the camera in the training room, a few fans speculated that this behind-the-scenes footage might be linked to the Netflix series “Break Point,” which is a documentary show showcasing tennis stars as they compete on the tour.

Sabalenka, despite making 46 unforced errors compared to Gauff’s 19, displayed sportsmanship and graciousness after the match. With a smile on her face she said, “You played unbelievably, congratulations Coco”. She went on to extend her best wishes to Coco and her entire team denoting that the title they received was well-deserved. She acknowledged Coco’s incredible performance and expressed the hope that they would have many more opportunities to compete in finals with different outcomes, all with a light-hearted laugh.
Sabalenka, 25, sailed through her initial five rounds without losing a single set and ousted several talents like Maryna Zanevska, Jodie Anna Burrage, Clara Burel, Daria Kasatkina, and Qinwen Zheng.
Sabalenka played against a formidable opponent Madison Keys (America), and emerged victorious in an intense three-set killer. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination, she staged a comeback after losing the first set.
